Hello All,
This forum has got to be the most confusing interface I have ever used. Don't get me wrong I have gotten a lot of great advice and answers. I recently had a question where I received a good answer. I think got an automatically generated email asking me to accept the solution. Nowhere does it say how to accept a solution to a question.
So that is my question today is on this forum, How do I mark someone's answer to my question as accepted?
Thank you.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
On your screen, in the upper right side of the answer, you will see 3 little dots arranged vertically.
Click the dots and a menu will drop down. One of the choices is Mark as Best Answer.

Thank you. This proves my point. The email from TT says mark as accepted, but the menu is mark one as the accepted solution. The email should say mark one as best answer which will make it the accepted solution.
Thanks again.

Frankly, and please take this in the spirit in which it is intended (imparting knowledge generally), the "best solution" issue has been debated ad nauseum (for years).
The question was simply, "How could users be sure the answers were correct, in many instances, if they did not know the answers in the first place (and had to ask the questions)?" FYI, there have been many instances where an answer was marked as an accepted solution but that answer was not correct.
Two things to note:
1) You can only mark answers in a thread that you started as "best answer".
2) I am not 100% certain, but I believe users can only mark one response as the best answer in a thread.
OK thank you tagteam, that clears things up.
Some of these threads become so long, and the questions end up meandering a bit from the original, that it seems like there can be more than one correct answer, but obviously there can only be one "best" answer.
