Use this document to resolve the rejection..
TurboTax will not let me override Schedule E property type.
The PDF document you reference page 10 says property type must be "Single Family Residence" not the number 1 which comes from the Sch. E worksheet, override is greyed out.
How do find the detail error message list in the article? The only error message I got is "X0000-005 xml data has failed schema validation"
The resolution you are suggesting has 105 different reasons on 33 pages why a "Business Rule X0000-005-The XML data has failed schema validation." error can occur. This is not an expert resolution, you just googled "Business Rule X0000-005-The XML data has failed schema validation." and gave us a link to an IRS webpage, which seems to be telling us to view the XML to find the error. Does Turbo Tax provide the XML document to view? Is this a Turbo Tax problem or an IRS problem?
If this is the best Turbo Tax can do then it seems simpler to just print the taxes, mail them to the IRS and get an eFile refund from Turbo Tax.
Here's how you can fix it:
Sign in to your account and select the Fix my return button. Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.
Note: Not all rejections will have explicit guides to fix the information. You’ll need to navigate to the program area to address the cause of the rejection.
Time-saving Tip: If what you originally entered is correct, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, a dependent that's already been claimed, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return. This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.
