How to delete 1095-A form

Form/schedule/worksheet is not one of my options from the list of forms I can delete. How else can I find the one for the 1096-A. I accidentally choose yes but I had insurance through my employer.

How to delete 1095-A form

To be sure there is not a partially completed form in TurboTax, please check here to delete the Form 1095-A and/or Form 8962 from your return. This will delete both the form and the entries.

  • To Delete a Form go black menu bar on the left
  • Click on Tax Tools
  • Click on Tools
  • Under Other helpful links, click on Delete a Form
  • Scroll down and check for 1095-A or 8962 and if there is one, click on Delete
  • Click on the blue Delete Selected Form
  • At the bottom Continue
  • At the bottom Continue with my Return

When our interview section Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A) for the Marketplace insurance reaches the screen Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan? it will default to "Yes"If you select "No" and Continue, it will not generate any Form 8962 information into your return. If you come back, it will default to "Yes" again, but it remained the "No" you selected until the time you came back into the area. This is as it should be.

How to delete 1095-A form

If you're being rejected for a missing or incomplete 1095-A it is because the IRS thinks you or someone on your return had a Marketplace health policy.

First confirm that you, or any others listed on your return were not covered by a Marketplace policy. You may be able to find a 1095-A form by signing in to your healthcare.gov account and downloading it.

Once you're confident that you did not get a 1095-A, you can try to delete the form.

If this didn’t work, go into your return and make sure that you checked that you didn’t get a 1095-A.

  • Start with Federal Taxes
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Medical.
  • On the Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A), click the start or update button.
  • Indicate that you did not get a 1095-A

Finally, if all else fails:

You can try to enter $1 on the 1095-A.  This will not affect anything on your return, but having the form there may get the IRS to accept your return.  To do this take the following steps:

  • Use the same steps above, but indicate that you did get a 1095-A
  • Post $1 for January. This will not change your tax return.

How to delete 1095-A form

I’m a freaking genius haha. I figured it out.

If you are struggling deleting this form, just go along with the form, fill it out with whatever, continue.. finish it. Once done, now you go ahead access :

”Tools” —> “Delete a form”

and 1095A will be there to be deleted 😂

Best of luck

This does work, but after answering no, on the next page there is a disclosure with a very small square where you must acknoweledge you did not recieve or will not recieve the form.
