How to change from online version to desktop version

I purchased the online version of Turbo Tax for the first time since it seemed like a good idea.  I've always had the desktop version before to do my return as well as my son's.  I just found out the online version will only allow one return.  How can I exchange the online version with a desktop version?  I purchased on Amazon.  Can I return the online version?

Yes, you can purchase the Desktop software, and then transfer the data from the Online software.

If you started your 2025 return in TurboTax Online you can switch to TurboTax Desktop, 

Install TurboTax Desktop.

1. Important: If your return includes a state, 
   1. Make sure you also install the corresponding state program(s) in order to proceed.
2. On the Desktop, Select Continue From TurboTax Online.
   1. This is on the first screen in the Desktop version
   2. There are two rectangular blue buttons
   3. [Start a New Return]
   4. Select [Continued From TurboTax Online]
3. Sign in to your Online Intuit Account.
4. Your data will be imported into TurboTax Desktop, and your return will open once the data transfer is complete.

What did you buy on Amazon?   Was it a License Code for the Online version or the 16 digit for the Desktop program?   Some places are selling the Online version this year.  And the Online code is only good for the federal return.  State is a separate charge.  

If you already paid I would call support and ask to download the Desktop program.
