Where are you entering a Loss?  You don't normally enter a loss anywhere.   And if you do the program knows it is a loss so you just enter the number as positive.

I should have written that if you have to enter a negative number, you use a minus (-) sign rather than brackets or parentheses. Negative numbers are somewhat common on K-1s.
