How do I upgrade from freedom to self-employed

Sorry you can’t upgrade from Tax Freedom.  You have to setup a new account over in Turbo Tax Online and start over.

Sorry, but if you started in the Freedom Edition you cannot upgrade to any other version.  (Was your income too high to use Freedom?) You have to start over from scratch in a paid version of the software using a different account and different user ID.  Sorry to bear bad news.  Since you are literally hours from the filing deadline, you might want to just purchase and download the desktop software that you are going to need.  E-filing closes tonight at midnight in your time zone, and the online software will soon be unavailable for 2017 returns.  A 2017 return will have to be printed, signed and mailed.

If you are getting a tax refund there is not a penalty for filing late.  If you still owe tax due, then the IRS will calculate and bill you for the penalty/interest owed when they actually receive your tax return.
