For 2024 turbo tax: I checked CA FTB EITC calculator -- qualified (meet all the conditions) with positive credits. But turboTax 2024 said "Not qualified" so that no credit. Believe it is a software error:how to fix it?
If you'd like, we can look at your return and see exactly what you see to help come to a resolution. The return will be scrubbed and won't include any of your personal details.
If you're using TurboTax Online:
Once you're logged in to your account,
- on the left hand panel, click on Tax Tools and then choose Tools
- on the pop up window, select Share my file with Agent
- you'll see a message saying you'll give us a copy of your tax return. Your personal information will be changed so we can't see any private information.
- click okay and you'll get another message with a token
Please reply to this message with your token so that we can further assist you.
The token is:
[phone number removed][phone number removed]8
Thanks.
Your post only has a phone number, which is personal information and should not be shared. DO NOT POST YOUR PHONE NUMBER
The agent is asking for a TOKEN number.
Please follow the steps that agent supplied if you would like someone to look at a sanitized copy.
That is token #, don't know why your system say it is phone number. That is:
nine zero five nine nine seven eight zero eight two eight three three six seven one - four three eight eight six six six eight
See if I can post it for you

Or you can post a screenshot of it.
yes, correct. Thanks. Wondering when feedback could be expected?
I also sent the screen shot of the token number, but it said the message was not delivered.
One of the requirements for California EITC is that your investment income must be below $4,053. Based on your return, your investment income exceeds this amount and that's what is disqualifying you from California EITC.
Per the IRS, investment income includes:
- taxable interest and dividends
- tax-exempt interest
- capital gain net income
- income from residential rental property
Great. Thanks a lot.
