That shouldn't matter. How is it affecting your state return?
Hello and thanks for responding. When I try to efile state taxes or file by mail, it refers me back to efile federal before I can do so. I’ve already done so and paid on time (IRS deducted my account twice!).
Are you using the Online version? Are you in the same account you did the federal?

In order to e-file your state return, I recommend checking to make sure your federal return was actually successfully e-filed. You cannot electronically file your state return unless your federal return has been accepted. Please see "how do I check my e-file status?" to ensure your federal return was filed and accepted.
If your federal return was not accepted, follow the steps in this link to fix the filing. You will be able to file your state return along with your federal return if this is your situation.
If your federal return was already accepted, you will need to follow the steps in this link to electronically file your state return. The instructions are broken out for both TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop depending upon which version of the software you are using.
