While preparing my 2022 taxes, I had to get an extension (not yet filed... procrastination) because I discovered mistakes in 2021 relating to sched E Rentals, passive loss, personal use, etc. that needed to be amended which is done and ready to send in.
I started my 2022 in Feb, like everyone by opening my original TTax 2021 return and uploading all of the original/as filed 2021 info into 2022.
The amended 2021 TTax file now has different carryover information that needs to go into 2022. What is the best way to update my in progress 2022; manually check and update each item, start over with a new 2022, uploading amended 2021 into it and then manually renenter all of the 2022 information or is there another way? updater?

Yes that's exactly right. If you have NOT filed 2022 then start a new return (go up to FILE-NEW) and transfer from the amended 2021 return. Sounds like you are using the Desktop program? That is the best way. You will have to re enter all your 2022 info.

Thanks,
I thought so. Good thing it wasn't the 2020 return, then I 'd have to do it all over with the 2021 before takling the 2022.
