Homestead: Dual States

Primary home in North Texas currently has homestead exemption. Purchasing 2nd home in New Orleans, Louisiana for work. Will be commuting back and forth. Can homestead exemption remain on home in Texas?

It's possible. Two items to consider. 1. You can't have another property in or out of TX that has an exemption. 2. The homestead exemption is for your "Principal Residence".
