Hi my name is Vanessa this is my 2nd year filling out the taxes. But got some issues when a friend tried to fill out this morning my taxes it says that I owe federal taxes $61.00 and state taxes

And state taxes $8.00 I dnt know way because I'm single and have no kids.... its says that I won't have any $ for me to them to return.... Need help dnt know what to do

Without looking at your return it is impossible to know why.

These are the most common things that effect your refund or balance due:

• Change in Filing Status;
• Change in dependents claimed;
• No longer have a child, under age 17, to claim the Child Tax Credit
• The amount of federal and/or state withholding;
• Income based credits, such as the Earned Income credit;
• Tax bracket changes
