The TurboTax software would not know if or when you have paid any taxes owed from the 2015 tax return. The status of your return will show the taxes owed even if you have already paid the taxes.

You have to e-file your tax return in the File section of the program by clicking on the Transmit Return button. Then you would have received two emails from TurboTax. The first email acknowledging the transmission of the tax return. The second email would be sent when the IRS and/or state either accepted or rejected the tax return.
OR -
You have to sign onto your 2015 online account using the exact same user ID you used to create the account.
Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one). Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.
Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery
If none of the user ID's received will access your 2015 account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "I don't know my email address or user ID"
