Did you not receive a W-2 because your employer failed to send you one or because you did not get a paycheck and worked for yourself? Did you get a letterr from the IRS stating your income and how much you owe? If the latter two apply and the amounts are correct, odds are the amount they say you owe is correct.

If you were employed and had taxes taken from your check, the amount the IRS says you owe is probable still correct. If you don't know how much you made, you can get a transcript from the IRS.

What are you totally lost about----the fact that you owe---or that you do not know how to pay your tax due?

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.

Or....if you mean you were self-employed and did not receive a W-2, then are you surprised by having to pay self-employment tax?   If that is the case, you need to understand that when you work as an independent contractor, you have to pay your own Social Security, your own Medicare, and ordinary income tax.

Or.....is it something else that has you confused about the results of your tax return?

Every year is separate. File your 2021 W-2 now and not with next year's taxes.

A 2021 W-2 can only be entered on a 2021 tax return.   You cannot wait and put it on any other tax year.   If the employer did not withhold enough tax to pay the amount of your tax liability, then you have to pay the amount due as shown on line 37 of the Form 1040.   You must use 2021 software and 2021 tax forms for 2021 income.

I filed one w2 from 2021 already do I have to go back to same place I filed the first one that year to add this w2 that I owe for

Hi guys , I didn’t file a w2 in 2021 and now it’s says I owe this is my first time owing and I’m total lost on what should I do

Online preparation and e-filing for 2019 and 2020 and 2021 is permanently closed.

To file a return for a prior tax year

If you need to prepare a return for 2019, 2020 or 2021 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/state-taxes/help/how-do-i-contact-my-state-department-of-revenue/0...

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

Note:  The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac.  It cannot be used on a mobile device.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.

Since you have already filed a 2021 tax return you will have to amend the tax return that was filed to add another W-2 to the tax return.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a 2021 tax return originally completed and filed using TurboTax - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-2021-return/L1gEU4G3X_U...

Hi guys , I didn’t file a w2 in 2021 and now it’s says I owe this is my first time owing and I’m total lost on what should I do

Oh boy....now you are adding details that should have been included at the beginning.   So---you already filed a 2021 return but left out one of your W-2's?   You have to wait until that first tax return has been fully processed and then amend the 2021 return that you filed in order to add that missing W-2.   ALL of your 2021 income was supposed to be on your tax return at the same time.  You do not file W-2's one at a time.   Going forward, if you have more than one employer for 2022, do not file your 2022 tax return until you have entered every 2022 W-2 that you get on the same tax return.

And....since you are adding more income when you enter that W-2, it is certainly possible for that extra income to cause you to owe.  If the results of your 1040X show that you owe, then you need to pay the amount owed.

You will not be able to e-file the amended return.   It has to be mailed.

Yes, if you already filed then you amend your original return, that is, add any additional information that was missing.
