Hello! I was wondering if turbo tax would mail my 2017 tax report to my address on file. I couldnt find how to default to having them mailed. Is this possible? thankyou

TurboTax cannot mail or email your tax year 2016 to you.  You can download a PDF of the return yourself.

When you sign onto to your online account using the exact same user ID you used to create, complete and file the 2016 tax return you will land on the Welcome Home screen.  Click on the blue link - Download/print return.

Or when you land on the Welcome Home screen click on My TurboTax at the top left of the program screen.  This will take you to the 2016 Timeline.  Under the section Some things you can do:  Click on either Download/print return (PDF) or Download all forms and worksheets.

1. On the line, Looking for prior year returns? click Load My Tax Timeline.
2. Click on the year of the tax return you want to access, and then select Download/print return (PDF) or Download .tax file.

Or when you land on the Welcome Home screen click on My TurboTax at the top left of the program screen.  This will take you to the 2016 Timeline.  Under the section Some things you can do:  Click on Add a state (you will not actually be adding a state).  This will take you to the 2016 online tax return.  Click on My Account at the top of the program screen.  Click on Print Center.  Click on Print, save or preview this year's return.

For prior year tax returns click on Print or view a prior year return

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Your instruction's said to sign with my user name I used in 2016, however, my user name has changed since 2016, several times.

TurboTax cannot mail or e-mail your tax returns to you.  You can download a PDF of the tax returns yourself.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

For a fee of $50 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

The instructions you give are not helpful.  I cannot retrieve info, if I do not have sing in info from 4 years ago.

You have to sign onto your prior year online account using the exact same User ID you used to create the online account.

Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one).  Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.

Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the User ID's for an email address.  Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery

If none of the user ID's received will access your prior year online account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "Try something else"
