Why do the IDNotify folks say they won't honor it? I wonder if you talked to someone there who is not familiar with their affiliation with TurboTax.
TurboTax does not provide much information on its site about using IDnotify. There's little into in the FAQ about IDNotify. It's possible TurboTax may make you go through a special link to set up your IDNotify account first.
After you purchased MAX and filed your return, did you get an email about your IDNotify membership and how to sign in there?

If you can't sign into IDNotify to report your incident and have talked to IDNotify and can't get them to honor their affiliated product with TurboTax that you purchased in your MAX benefits, phone TurboTax Support and complain. Make them explain to you how to take advantage of your purchase.
