Hello, I am entering box D “control number” exactly as written and it is not accepting the input. Can someone look at it and explain what is wrong?

The control number in box D is not required to file the tax return.  You can leave the box D blank (empty).

If the program continues to request an entry in box D then delete the W-2 and re-enter the W-2 manually.

We cannot see your tax return or your screen. Are you entering the control number because you are trying to import your W-2? If it's not working, just enter the W-2 manually instead. That will be a lot faster and easier than trying to figure out why the import is not working. When you enter the W-2 manually you can just omit the control number. It is not required.
