Who sent you an email?  The IRS does not send emails?  They will send you a letter in the mail.

If you mean TT then as they find program errors then send out notices to users who MAY have been affected so read the notice carefully then log into your account by NOT clicking on any links in the email and see if you were affected.  Contact TT support if you have any questions :
