Did you use the online version last year or the Desktop program? You need the file ending in .tax2021 to transfer into 2022. It doesn't matter if you efiled or mailed the return. It makes the .tax2021 file either way. Do you still have access to the old computer?
Are you on Windows? The data file should be in Documents in a Turbo Tax subfolder. Or Search your computer for all files ending in .tax or .tax2021. And check the Recycle Bin. The PDF file should be saved there too. If you have Windows 10 check the OneDrive. Or to Drop Box. Check your backups. Could it be under a different user on your computer?
If you don't have the main .tax file you might have one that starts with a Tilde sign ~ like "~your name.tax2021". That file is if your computer crashes or your real file gets lost or deleted or corrupt so you can restore it.

You have to do the transfer of 2021 to 2022 at the very beginning, BEFORE you enter any new data. If you started putting in any 2022 information without performing the transfer of the 2021 tax file to 2022, then you could clear and start over and transfer it correctly. And----you MUST be in the same account with the same user ID.

Find your Tax file in Windows
Thank you so much for your assistance. I used the desktop version last year and saved a pdf of the file. I do have access to the computer and was using windows 10 on it. I will do some searches and see what I can find.
Yay. Found it. For some reason it was saved in my turbotax 2018 file. But, I got it transferred over and loaded onto my new computer. Thank you so much for your help!
Thanks for this info! I did see where turbotax claims you can pull in last year's data if you have already started a return. I'm hoping that's correct because I've entered all my 2022 data. According to what you've said, that won't work. I may have to re-enter it all. Ugh. But, I did locate my 2021 data file so that's a huge help. Thanks much.
Yes sorry. You will have to start 2022 in a new blank file to transfer. For Desktop go up to File-New. And renter your 2022 info. Where did you see Turbo Tax can get last years data after you started? Can you post a link? You must have misunderstood it.
