When I tried to have them call me back it no longer gave me that option? Only gave me a # to call them! So frustrating she couldn't answer my question and I honestly think she hung up on purpose, it's happened before! I figured it out myself! Turbotax added my stimulus $ to my AGI that's why it increased? I still haven't been reimbursed by the Federal government for taxes I paid on unemployment also!! Ridiculous at this point 😡

Turbotax added my stimulus $ to my AGI that's why it increased?  This cannot happen ... the stimulus payments are NOT taxable income.

Before you started entering your tax data into your TurboTax program, the program assumed you had not received your stimulus payment yet, so when you entered the amount you received, it was subtracted from your refund. So, your stimulus payment is not taxable and it is not decreasing your refund, your refund was simply overstated to begin with by the amount of your stimulus payment.

I still haven't been reimbursed by the Federal government for taxes I paid on unemployment also!! Ridiculous at this point  There is nothing that TT can do for you ... it is all up to the IRS once you have filed the return.

The Where’s My Refund tool has been changed over to the 2021 tax year so you will no longer get updates on the 2020 return.

Check your account transcripts instead :

https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

If it has been shown up to now on the refund site then you know the IRS has your return and they are working on it.

To call the IRS:IRS:  800-829-1040  hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri

Listen to each menu before making the selection.

First choose your language. Press 1 for English.

Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.

Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".

Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".

Then press 3 "for all other questions."

Then press 2 "for all other questions."  It should then transfer you to an agent.

At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your area's IRS Taxpayer Advocate.
