Form 8962 Line 26 Not Included on 1040 Line 20 — TurboTax Omission?

Edit: Thank you so much to those who responded. You were absolutely right. The credit was right where you said it would be. I knew that TT wouldn't get something so simple wrong.

I used TurboTax to file my 2024 tax return and just noticed what appears to be a major issue.

I received a Form 1095-A from the Marketplace.

On Form 8962, my Line 26 (Net Premium Tax Credit) shows $2,234.

But on my Form 1040, Line 20 only shows $200 — not the full amount.

As a result, my refund was $2,034 less than it should have been.

I confirmed that TurboTax generated Form 8962 correctly (all the advance payments and premiums are properly listed from my 1095-A). But it seems TurboTax failed to carry over the Line 26 credit to 1040 Line 20, which is required.

My Questions:

Has anyone else had this issue with TurboTax this year?

Is this a known glitch?

Does this qualify for the Maximum Refund Guarantee or 100% Accurate Calculation Guarantee?

I feel like this is a serious error — especially since everything was entered correctly. I'm considering filing a 1040-X amended return to claim the full credit.

Thanks in advance for any advice or confirmation. I'd love to know if I'm not the only one who experienced this.

Do you have self employment income?   Check Schedule 1 line 17 to see if it went towards your self employed health insurance.   If you enter the 1095-A and select the "Self-employed and bought a Marketplace plan" box, it will automatically include those premiums in the SE Health Insurance section.

Self-employed health insurance deduction goes on Form 1040 Schedule 1 line 17 then to 1040 line 10, as long as the expense is not greater than your net self-employment income. If it does exceed your net self-employment income it gets split automatically.

My reading of the form and Schedule 3, is that the $$ are supposed to go to line 31 of the form 1040.

i.e. Those from 8962 $$ go to line 9 of the Sched 3....which total down to line 15 of the Sched 3 before transferring to line 31 of the form 1040.

But yeah, I'm unaware of potential SE issues.

Yeah check schedule 3 line 9 which goes to line15 then to 1040 line 31 (not line 20).   Line 20 comes from Sch 3 Part 1 line 8.  See what line has the $200 on it.

And part of it can go to the self employed health insurance on Schedule 1 which is better since it comes off your income before the tax is calculated.
