Your best bet is probably to delete Form 8863 and re-input your information. Please see the TurboTax Help article "How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?" for guidance.
deleting did not work. After trying this and having it do the same, we looked into the IRS instructions for Form 8863 line 23 (page7 )
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8863.pdf
"If the American opportunity and Hope scholarship credits have been claimed for this student for 3 or fewer prior tax years, check “No.” See Student qualifications, earlier. "
If you go by that, then a "no" answer may be correct.
That sounds correct, particularly if you're a return TurboTax user.
This answered my confusion . I was so worried and about to send an amendment because of this confusion . But I checked the IRS form that you linked and it helped me understand why it was checked as NO . That was a smart move to check the orginal IRS form . Thank you , for sharing 🙂 !
