For my 1099-b, I need to know what to enter in turbo tax for box 2 (long/short term) for sale category x. on my 1099-b box 5 is checked so box 2 is blank.

Choose long term.Because it's a noncovered security, your brokerage is not reporting this information, which means you acquired this stock before either 2012 or 2011, depending on the nature of the shares. If you purchased the stock and held it for longer than 1 year, the holding period is long term.
