Follow these instructions in the federal portion of your tax return to estimate next year's federal taxes. The interview is found in the Other Tax Situations menu at the top, but this FAQ will get you there. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4242911
Link is no longer valid. Has anyone found the link for estimating taxes for the year 2020.
This is a new forum layout. Some posts that have June 2019 dates are really older posts from the old forum that got moved over. So they might be for prior years and not current info. When they migrated over the dates got changed to June 2019. And the screen shots got deleted.
Here's the link for the current TaxCaster tool:

To prepare estimates for next year you start with your current return, but be careful not to change anything. If you can't get back into your return, Click on Add a State to let you back into your retun.
You can just type W4 in the search box at the top of your return , click on Find. Then Click on Jump To and it will take you to the estimated tax payments section. Say no to changing your W-4 and the next screen will start the estimated taxes section.
Or Go to….

The 1040ES quarterly estimates are due April 15, 2020, June 15, Sept 15 and Jan 15, 2021. The first quarter is not due until July 15 this year. Your state will also have their own estimate forms.
Or you can pay directly on the IRS website https://www.irs.gov/payments
Be sure to pick the right kind of payment and year.....2020 Estimate
If you were using the ONLINE program it is closed for the season.
Try these tools:

If you are using the downloaded version :
When you prepare your 2019 return, we'll automatically calculate your 2020 estimated tax payments and prepare 1040-ES vouchers if we think you may be at risk for an underpayment penalty next year.
You can also calculate your 2020 estimated taxes and generate the payment vouchers by doing this:
TurboTax uses the most recent info when calculating your 2020 estimated taxes.
Thank you. I'm using Turbo Tax's online version. 2020 is not following 2019. I've been paying the vouchers that were generated with 2019 taxes but I also started to receive Social Security, received stimulus check and capital gains/losses that differ from 2019. I was looking to do an estimate and make adjustment to my next quarterly payment.
The online version is currently closed so I don't know how you could be using it right now.
The taxcaster tool should work for your situation when it converts to the 2020 in a couple of weeks:
And the stimulus check is NOT taxable income ... do NOT include it in your calculations.
Thank you for your last 2 replays and apologize if my questions were naive. I understand that "the online version is currently close" and was hoping that there was an integrated approach pulling relevant info from 2019 tax return while updating for 2020 income and deductible expenses thru October.
I'll work with the Taxcaster tool.
I highly recommend you use the superior downloaded version going forward so you ALWAYS have access to a working program to what if to your heart's delight.
SAVE this info for later ....
If you prepared your 2019 return online, in order for your previous year tax information to transfer into your Desktop software you need to download your 2019 Online return as a .tax2019 file.
If you can't get or didn't save the .tax file to your computer before online was shut down Oct 15 or lost it, there is a way to do it by starting your return in the 2020 Online version, transfer into that and then you can switch and continue in the desktop version and you won't have to pay for online. This is my mini version of a tutorial that should be in the downloaded program:
Always remember to shut off the auto update function once you have filed your returns and do not do any updates unless you have safeguarded the PDF & .taxfiles to a removable storage unit for safekeeping.
Forms Mode lets you view and make changes to your tax forms "behind the scenes."
If you're adventurous, you can even prepare your return in Forms Mode, but we don't recommend it. You may miss obscure credits and deductions you qualify for, and you may forget to report things that will come back and haunt you later.
Forms Mode is exclusively available in the TurboTax CD/Download software. It is not available in TurboTax Online.
If you want to play around with different figures and tax scenarios without affecting your original return you can ….
It's always a good idea to make a backup copy of your tax data file, in case your original gets lost or corrupted. Here's how:
If you make changes to your original tax return file, repeat these steps to ensure your original and backup copies are in-synch.
AND save it as a PDF so you have access to a copy even if you don’t have the program still installed and operational :
AND protect the files :
Here's how you can see a list of all your overrides (if any). On the Tools menu select My Tax Data. A window will open that lists all the entries in your return. Any entry that was overridden will say Overridden in the Source column. You can click on the heading of the Source column to sort on that column, so that any Overridden entries will be together. If there are Details or Import entries at the top of the list after you sort it, scroll down to see if there are any Overridden entries after the Details and Import entries. The item in the My Tax Data list tells you the form and line number that has the override. You can click on an overridden item in the list, then click the Go To Form button at the bottom of the list to go to the form that has the override.
