So I started my job recently in mid-April, and I am seeing a w4 form. I think I have a general idea about it, but I confused on whether to file the taxes or click on tax-exempt (this is my first job, so I haven't filed taxes before), I don't want to owe the government so what do I do?
Thank you in advance.

Do not say that you are exempt. You do not say how much you expect to earn in 2025. If you are single then you will pay tax if you make more than $15,000 in 2025. Your employer must withhold Social Security and Medicare from your wages, and may need to withhold federal and/or state tax as well.
You complete a W-4 for your employer to show them your filing status and show them whether you have any dependents, etc. The employer will withhold tax according to what you enter. If they withhold too much you can seek a refund when you file your 2025 tax return next year. If they do not withhold enough from your pay, you could owe the IRS (or state) at tax time.
