I completed my taxes with TurboTax, e-filed, paid all the proper fees today........when I checked status it says I have not filed , when I finished they told me I was finished and filed......so what is it and why am I paniced???

Paying your fees did not file your tax return.

Did you e-file?  Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?  

https://www.irs.gov/refunds         

  Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”

Note:  If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself.  TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

I couldn't get your reply???..I finally answered my own question after trying to 'FILE' again and again........there is some sort of form that follows the 'ready to file'  ( I forget what it is) I closed that form but I should not have closed it where it says CLOSE, should be closed by the little red X.........otherwise it closes everything down and your taxes go nowhere.

As soon as I closed it properly, I was able to E-file and it told me so!!!!!!  My taxes are E-Filed and I am waiting for confirmations........which may take a day or so.

No, I never got that message, that was the problem, I kept filing and sending but never got that message until I clicked on 'red x' on some msssage and then entered a phone # that the form did not say was mandatory......not sure which was the problem......when I did that , turbotax finallh sent me message that e-mails were sent and then within the hour I got my confirmation that both were accepted!!!!!!!!
