Filing taxes for 2023 for my mom who passed away in 2023

Normally I do my mom's taxes for her.   I've already done her 2022 taxes in TurboTax Deluxe (Windows Desktop version).

My mom passed away in March of 2023.  She received some retirement income in 2023 so I have to file taxes for the year 2023.   But when I run TurboTax Deluxe Desktop 2022, there's no way to file taxes for the year 2023.

Should I just file taxes using regular paper forms?

You need to buy a new Desktop program each year.  Turbo Tax is only for 1 year.  Or use the Online version.  But to do 2023 you have to wait until next year when 2023 come out (Nov for Desktop program).

So sorry for your loss.  No one will be preparing or filing a 2023 tax return until next year when tax year 2023 is over---it ends on December 31, 2023, and people will file 2023 returns in 2024.  There are no 2023 software or 2023 tax forms yet.    Post back next year in 2024 when it is time to file a 2023 return and we can help then if you need help.

Turbo only have 2022, for year 2023 will be available around end of year 2023 then file in 2024.
