This was my first time Turbo Tax to file my 2024 taxes. In the past, I used H&R Block. All went well until I tried to use my credit card to pay for e-filing the returns. After trying more than one card to complete the payment and attempting to contact someone about it (super difficult/impossible), I reluctantly opted to pay the extra to let the fees come out of the Fed return. Fast forward, according to the IRS website the return was released 2 April 2025. I tried multiple times to contact Turbo Tax via chat (no help) and even called (the automated help hung up on me). Overall, this has been frustrating and time consuming since 2 April when the refund didn’t show up, and I started trying to track it down. Now 13 days later, I finally received an email that the Fed check will come via usps mail. I could have filed by mail with better results. This has been expensive and disappointing.

And when you have the fees deducted from your refund it has to go through a 3rd party bank to take the fees out.  AND there is an Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) for that.   If the sbtpg bank can’t Direct Deposit your refund they will mail you a check.  I think there also another fee for that like $35?
