Did you choose to have the fee deducted from your federal refund instead of just paying the $40 with a credit/debit card upfront?  If so, then you also agreed to a $39.99 refund processing fee.  Or did you add a state return--that is another $40.

I only authorized Turbo Tax to bill me for ONE FEE of $40 and then I saw they took $87 from my credit card. So, be careful with that.

You can check the fees that were charged to you and correct in TurboTax.

Select Review your fees in TurboTax to find out why you're being charged. Then, follow the directions to remove any unwanted charge:

It’s so deceptive.  They double the fee if it is taken from the refund and of course that wasn’t clear.

I am putting a reminder in my calendar to NOT use TurboTax next year.  I hope others do the same.

When you are notified that you can pay your TurboTax fees from your refund, there is a mention of the fee that applies to that. It is to cover the cost that the bank charges to process the refund.
