how much in capital gains can I take in 2026 without paying capital gains tax

The letter states: "...we need more information to process the return accurately." "If you filed a tax return for the tax year referenced above [2025], send us: -A copy of pages 1 and 2 of your return (pages 1, 2, and 3, if Form-SR) -Amounts and dates f all estimated tax payments you made for this tax year (if applicable), -Any supporting documents verifying income and withholding and -A copy of this letter." I need a tax expert to take this and talk to the IRS for us to figure out what we need to do and why the relevant information that we included on our tax return was not sent to the IRS.

I was filing as married filing jointly with my wife as main person (head of household?) in the declaration. However, I now want to file myself, separately and the absolute majority of wages and income are to my name and from my employment. I already filled out all the information, and I don't want to redo the declaration again from the scratch.

I was selected to review products through the Amazon Vine program last year. The products they send are considered compensation/income in exchange for the review. However, they do not allow us to sell or give away the items for 6 months. And some of the products are unusable and worth nothing even though they put the estimated tax value (that is inflated) on the 1099-NEC they send. The other issue is that in order to review the product, we have to use the product.I understand we have to pay income tax on the ETV of the product. I also understand that if we claim this as self-employment income as opposed to hobby income, then we can deduct expenses. What I want to know is can we deduct the ETV of the items themselves as a business expense or loss if the product arrives damaged or unusable and had to be thrown away or disposed of? Also, if we have to use the product up in order to review it, then can we deduct the ETV as a business expense since we no longer have the product due to havin

I have a rental property and Turbo Tax is using the AMT depreciation instead of the standard depreciation. I am nowhere near the AMT limit. The AMT depreciation deduction is $1200 less than the standard. How do i fix this. I cant see anyway to change this or manually adjust the amount.

All of the other units are owner occupied and one unit is a pied-a-terre.The condo’s certiorari attorney is filing the 2025/2026 real estate tax protest and has asked for amount of rent for any apts being rented in the building. See below.B/c the attorney is trying to reduce the condo buildings taxes, I don't think they would provide the data point if it hurts the case.
