I no longer qualify for free filing. I want to try another TurboTax product. How can I do that? TurboTax only seems to recognize me from free filing.

If you tried Free File and then did not qualify to use it, you have to switch to a different account and user ID.  It may be annoying, but it is not possible to upgrade to a paid version of the software from Free File due to IRS rules.  You will have to start over.

@Niutuutolu You added on to a very old thread.   We do not understand why you think adding your spouse's information means you have to start over.   Please explain what  all you have done so far.    Are you trying to prepare a joint return or are you and your spouse trying to file married filing separately?  We cannot see your return(s) so we need information in order to help.

You must visit the IRS at https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free

to find truly free filing. Note that some include free state as well; that's important.
Otherwise, If you have to file a state return, and don't want to do that yourself, you will need software that you pay for.

If adding your wife's income kicked you over the income limit,, well C'est la vie.

You should have thought of that.

If some schedule was added and disqualified you, that's a nasty feature of TurboTax.
