Extra CMS credit ,My MA state tax was rejected. There is an extra row for CMS credit with all credits set to 0 . How can I set it back to e-file from Mail & fix credit?

I filed my MA state tax but my return was rejected.

What happened /ReturnState/ReturnDataState/Sch1CMS/NonRefundableCredits/Credits/PeriodEndDate - The Massachusetts return could not be e-filed due to missing or invalid information for non-refundable credits on Schedule CMS, "Credit Manager Schedule". Credit type is required for each credit claimed. Verify that a credit type has been selected from the drop down menu for all business related non-refundable credit entries. Delete any incomplete credit entries that were made in error.

It appears there is an extra row for credits which came from SEWER improvements with all credits set to 0. I am trying to get rid of it but software is not allowing to.
Also, right now my state tax is in the state where  I cannot re-file it electronically. It is set to Mail.

How can I set it back to e-file and fix the credit issue?

To finish or make corrections, if you can no longer make changes to your return, but before you've e-filed or mailed your return, you can "add a state" to make changes:

1.    Sign In to TurboTax Online

2.    Click "My TurboTax" menu

3.    Press "Visit My Tax Timeline"

4.    Under the "SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO" heading, choose "Add a state" (you're not really adding a state, this allows you to get back into your return).

5.    Complete/correct as needed.

As far as the credit form that is being included that you are having difficulty deleting,  if you haven't tried deleting the form related to the credit, please go to TAX TOOLS/TOOL/DELETE A FORM from the menu in black on the bottom left.  Scroll down to the Maryland Forms and delete anything related to credits including Forms, Worksheets and/or Schedules.

Here is an additional article related to making rejection corrections. Rejected Returns

Thank you for your message Karen.

I have e-filed but it was rejected couple of times already.

Right now I am facing 2 two issues:

1. I am not able fix the form by deleting CMS form . I tried the steps you suggested but i still see the form when i come back

2. I am not able to set it to e file from READY TO MAIL.  below is the screenshot of the options i get

Add State --> File --> Continue --> Start --> Change

If the Massachusetts return was not yet electronically filed, then cancel the amendment from the left hand menu.

Go back into the return and adjust the CMS credit by adjusting the details on the Credit you are taking. Follow these steps to return to this area in TurboTax.

  1. From the left menu, select State
  2. Continue
  3. Select Continue next to Massachusetts and enter the applicable credit. If there were any credits taken in prior years that may limit the credit this year, enter those details in the Taxes & Credits section. There is no separate entry for Schedule CMS. TurboTax will automatically create this form for you.

Schedule CMS (credit Manager Schedule) is a summary schedule needed when filing other credits such as the Solar and Wind Energy Credit.
