Extension and Payment

I used the Easy Extension feature just now to file for a federal extension. During the process, I entered the taxes I estimated I owe, then I selected "Direct Debit", filled in my banking details, and selected "Transmit Extension". For the payment date, I entered today: 04/10/2025.

 

Shortly afterward, I received an E-mail indicating that my extension was being processed, and a few minutes later, that my extension was approved.

 

However, nothing in the E-mails suggests that my payment information was submitted/approved/received by the IRS, and there's nowhere on TurboTax Online to check. If I go back to the extension feature, it tells me that I already filed an extension and that it was approved, and if I download the extension in PDF form, there's the amount I intend to pay, but no payment details and no further information.

 

Should I expect another E-mail sometime indicating that the payment information was submitted/processed, or does this all indicate a problem/misunderstanding on my part?

I would expect an email by tomorrow. You can call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about your payment.
