I have tried filing my taxes from Turbotax Mac 8 times now. The 5 digit pin is entered. Every time the IRS insists that the PIN is missing. Not that it is wrong, but it is missing. We have confirmed the correct PIN with the IRS. We have tried only the 5 digit pin since it is the efiling PIN and TurboTax only accept 5 digits, not 6.
So we are now working on mailing in the tax returns if we cannot fix this issue today. Assuming it doesn't work, this seems to be an Intuit error since the PIN was entreated. How do we get a refund for the $25 spend on the state tax filing?
Side note: this is my son's return. For the past 10 years I do taxes on TurboTax and with an accountant and TurboTax has a serious error in my taxes every year. My son's taxes are much simpler.

Is it asking for a 6 digit PIN?
If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file. Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.
Ah, thank you for the very precise instructions. I will give it a go. Too bad that TurboTax doesn't ensure that I enter this PIN or that it directs me to this exact place when the return was rejected.
