Estimated Taxes applied from Refund

I applied my 2022 state refund toward estimated taxes for 2023. While doing my 2023 taxes, do I need to enter the amount applied from 2022 taxes or will TurboTax carry it over? ie - Should I enter the amount applied in the 4/18/23 box and leave the rest blank?

Yes, if you transferred your 2022 return into 2023, TurboTax should fill in the amount of State Tax Refund from last year for you.  Verify or enter the amount below.

Enter Estimates & Other Taxes Paid:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click on Federal tab.
  3. Click on Deductions & Credits.
  4. Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid, Click on down arrow.
  5. Click on Start or Revisit to the right of Income Taxes Paid.
  6. Click on Start or Revisit to the right of 2022 refund applied to 2023 federal taxes.
  7. Enter the amount applied to 2023 (if not already entered) and select Continue.

Thanks for the reply.

When I am in the State Estimated Payments, I see the following:

Enter any state estimated tax payments you made for 2023. Change Dates paid if necessary.

Do not enter payments made in 2023 for your 2022 state return or your 2022 overpayment applied to this year's state return.

This kind of says don't enter anything here, right?

That is correct...Do not enter anything.

Yes, don't enter your 2022 refund applied to 2023 if you transferred your 2022 return into your 2023 return (it should have done it automatically).

This amount will show up on your Federal Form 1040, Line 26.

See images below.
