Ok ... then back to my other answer.
If the SS# has already been thru the TT system and TT rejected it (not the IRS) so you have to print/mail in the return. OR you can try using one of the IRS free file options and if the return is rejected due to duplication then you will have to print/mail in the return after all.
FYI ... if the child's SS# has already been thru the IRS system not as a dependent then this is mess up your return as well ... you may need to print/mail in your return as well.
.....still not clear IF you "created" separate files with the H&B program before submitting them separately.
When you startup your H&B program it should show all the different files you created...like shown below.
((This was using Windows desktop...so MAC desktop will display somewhat similarly...)))
But on that opening page, after first starting up, you should see the status of each separate file you prepared.
....those I'm showing are just 3 of the 19 test files I've worked on to check different situations ( so I haven't submitted them ).
So...do you have separate files showing when you startup the H&B software?
