I just tried to do my 2021 return and, although it is a simple one this year, its final calculation wildly over stated my income for the year (by millions of dollars!!). It apparently transferred the error to the "taxes due" section because although it says i owe taxes (likely also an error), the amount it says i owe is not of the magnitude of the income overstatement. I have tried calling several times and was sent in circles before being told to come sign on and get instructions (which i did, which led back to the automated circle system). At my wits end. Any suggestions?

If you imported your tax forms, go to the section for the form and delete the form. Re-enter manually.
If you entered the form(s) manually then go back and edit the tax form(s). There is more than likely a misplaced decimal point or a comma entered in the income sections and/or the taxes withheld sections of the form.
When entering any type of number on the tax return a comma is Never to be entered.

thank you - i did find one really weird entry that accounted for the overcalculation of income and it was an easy fix. II'd entered a dollar amount with cents, not rounding up/down, got misread, and that apparently caused the entry to go berserk, reading the decimal point as a comma. I corrected that number and got an apparently correct income result. This is odd because it is far from the only time i've entered un-rounded numbers (this year or previously), but in this one spot it went amuck. Please note - it wasn't a typo on my part because the number pad doesn't have a comma! So user beware...
Also, the tax due amount got corrected as a result - but that number never did make sense (too low for the higher number, yet still appears too high for the corrected number, but easy enough to double check with IRS forms).
First time that i've had a problem like this with Turbo Tax... makes me wonder if this year there are more bugs still in it than usual in February...
again, thanks for your help
