Entering REIT income from a K-1 Trust statement (2024)

I found some old posts about this, but none of the answers seem to apply to the current software.  Please help if you can.

My K-1 Trust has an entry for line 14 labeled "I".  The attached statement shows 199A REIT dividends.

The turbotax Premier instructions mention "Box 14, Code IC: Section 199A REIT dividends" but there seems to be no way to enter them.  I found

  • Line 14 with dropdowns for A-M and ZZ, but no IC.  If I choose "I" its shows "Section 199A Information" but nothing about REIT and the information does not get passed on.
  • Line 14 I with options for A and ZZ, but again no IC.
  • If I enter "REIT dividends" or "IC REIT dividends" as a ZZ line the information is again not passed on.

When I say the information is not passed on, I mean that it doesn't appear in Form 8995 or anywhere else I can see it.  I don't know  much about Form 8995 except that my professional preparer (who retired over the winter!) used it to report similar amounts last year.

What is the correct way to enter the REIT dividends from a K-1 Trust?

Thank you.

Entering REIT income from a K-1 Trust statement (2024)

Enter the Bix 14 I entry and continue.  You will see :

We see you have Section 199A income and indicate The only source of Section 199A dividends (also called "REIT dividends"), not business income.

Then We need some information about your 199A income/=.
