E-File Rejected

My return has been rejected for e-file three times with the following message: IND-032-04 - 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database.

Turbo Tax indicates that it is the AGI that does not match. I have checked the AGI three times for the prior filing year (2020) and it is correct. Why would the e-file database have a different number if that is the AGI number used by Turbo Tax to file in 2020? Could someone have fraudulently filed in my name using a different AGI? If that's the case, who do I contact to remedy the situation?

E-File Rejected

TurboTax does not reject your return, the IRS (& State) rejects your return for the AGI.  If you filed as Married Filing Joint in 2020, then you need to enter the same AGI for each of you from your joint return.  Do Not split it.

If you filed a Married Filing Separate & now are filing joint, put the AGI from each of your separate returns.

If all else fails, try using a Zero for the 2020 AGI.

Thanks blue - Found the same suggestion to enter "zero" from another post and tried it, and lo and behold, it worked...return accepted. The only bad thing about this good result is its clear indication of how messed up the IRS e-filing systems are.

Same thing happened to me.  I took the AGI right off the turbotax top sheet for 2020 checked it against my return for 2020 and put it on the 21 taz return. And it was rejected along with the NY State efile.  Does anyone have a solution?

Why does my taxes get rejected

E-File Rejected

@Kendog1981  If your return keeps getting rejected for your 2020 AGI, try using a Zero for your 2020 AGI.

If I put down zero will it work?  That what you did?

E-File Rejected

@Aufrichtig  there is no guarantee, since it is the IRS & State that rejects returns.  Enter the Zero for the 2020 AGI to see if your return will go through.

Putting in zero (0) worked for me, and I've already received my refund.

To TurboTax Manager,

E-filings were rejected happened so often.  Simply resolution just putting the amount "0" worked for several TurboTax users.  Should TurboTax Experts find out why and state the simple solution in your TurboTax website?

First time, I called the line was cut off after answering all questions.

Second time, I was advised to contact IRS.

Lucky, I say the simple solution from your website - just put the amount "0" in the fix it box.

Please make TurboTax more user friendly.  Thank you and good luck.
