Download prior years tax history data

My Turbox 2019 program didn't download my tax summaries from prior years do to a missing file.  How can I now re-download the prior years tax summaries from my 2018 files to my 2019 file.

You can get a copy of your 2018 tax return, from TurboTax.

Follow these steps to get a copy of your prior-year tax return.  

Sign in to TurboTax making sure you're using the same TurboTax account (with the same username) as in prior years.  

1. Select Documents from the navigation when it appears.  

2. Use the drop-down menu at the top of the screen to choose the tax year you want and then select Download PDF.

several "IF"s

 IF you Used the Online software for 2018 taxes last year, And IF you are using the desktop software this year for 2019....you can get the History report two ways.

1)  you can download a NEW pdf file for 2018 from your Online tax account...that is a huge PDF file, but will contain the 2014-to-2018 History, as long as each of the prior years that were transferred into it without a break in any year..  Should have both a Two year comparison, and a 5-year History report in that PDF.

2)  IF instead , you want that history transferred into your 2019 Desktop file to...you cannot transfer it into an already created 2019 tax file.  You have to start a NEW desktop 2019 file, from scratch, and transfer-in the .tax2018 datafile right at the start of the new 2019 file.   (a copy of the .tax2018 datafile needs to be downloaded into you Desktop disk before you do that )
