Does turbo tax reduce your stimulus to pay their fees?

My stimulus has been reduced to 1200 to pay off turbo tax fees for service. Is that normal?

the Turbotax fees come out of your refund. The refund shown on the return is not changed. what's different is the refund you receive will be less than what the return shows on line 35a. However, if the IRS reduced the stimulus amount, line 30 would be reduced from what was filed which indicates the IRS computers detected an error on your return.  in 8 weeks or less you should receive a notice from the IRS explaining the change.

@vintagemeshu24 - look at Line 30 of your rax return.

you are eligible for either the stimulus or the Recovery Credit - but not both.  It's worth $1400 for each person listed on your tax return.

During the interview process, you were asked how much you received last year (march - may, 2021) for the 3rd stimulus.  If your response did not match what the IRS knows they sent you, the IRS adjusted Line 30 to match their records.
