@Santana3 Are you amending to change your filing status to HOH? Are you in fact Head of Household? Do you meet the criteria to file as HOH?

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your filing status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.
If you can file as HOH that should not be a reason for the return to be rejected.
exactly I usually file for that every year but the irs rejected my amendment return because they said they want it to say single as it did before on my original return
I have 3 dependents I should be able to file head of household
Ok ... the new efiling of amended returns has some limitations ... you MUST mail in the 1040X if you change filing statues. This doesn't mean you cannot do it just that it cannot be efiled.
Having 3 dependents doesn't automatically mean you are HOH ... supporting the household does.

@Deelane58 You have posted to an old thread that has had no activity for over three years. We do not understand your issue. Please provide some details. You are saying that you paid for an amended return but the IRS rejected it. Do you mean your e-file was rejected? You cannot e-file it now. The only way to file it is by mail. You have to print, sign and date that return, and mail it in.
