Please call back and request to have a manager call you back.  An issue like this needs to be researched and rectified.

Did you have a tax due on the original return?  You still have to pay that.  Then the amended return is only for the difference.  It thinks you already did pay it.

Check the actual 1040X.  Line 18 should be your original refund amount and line 22 should be your additional refund.  If you paid on your original return it will be on line 16.  If there is an amount owed with the amendment, it will be on line 20.

So if there is an amount on line 16 you still need to pay that. In fact you should not have amended until the original return was fully processed and done and you got the first refund or paid the tax due.

They owed me both on the original and the ammended. So, I don't owe the IRS anything- which they confirmed to me. I now realize I should have waited until the original was processed before ammending... But didn't realize that initially. Won't make that mistake again! I will also not make the mistake of using TurboTax in the future.

I think the TurboTax interface thinks I had already received my original return, when I actually had t received it. And actually, it should know since I opted to pay my service fee ($126) with my return. So there is definitely a lapse within their system. But to attempt to withdrawal the amount their computer *thinks" I owe is absurd. Even if I did owe that money, I owe it to the IRS- not Turbotax

Ok.  If it was Turbo Tax they would only try to take the fees out of your account.  They don't touch your refund.  And it certainly couldn't be for a tax due which you didn't have in the first place.

If the IRS is taking too long to send your refund or reduces it see.....

Then when the IRS does send your refund they won't take the fees out again.

And, Why you got charged,
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

You should have received about 4 emails asking for the fees. If you don't pay they will debit your account. You had to agree to it. Check your spam folder for emails.

Except that the TurboTax rep I spoke with initially stated that they I "agreed to allow TurboTax to withdrawal any tax due" when I did my taxes with them. She, of course, then back tracked afterwards but when she was initially looking at my account she apologized that they had done this but that I had agreed to it. When I argued that I would never agree to allow them to take money out that I didn't even owe her response changed. She did not initially sent that they did in fact attempt this withdrawal. Either way, I'm now working with the identify theft department and gave them all the information/ account numbers etc from the attempted withdrawal. They, also, stated it was Turbo Tax who attempted this, not them... Again, because I don't owe them any money. The only place where it claims I owe money is in my TurboTax account since they believe I had already received my original return.

No they don't believe you got your refund.  That's why they are trying to take the fees out of your bank.  Because the IRS has not sent your refund yet.  But only the fees.  Do you have proof they tried to take out $2,000+?

And it's confusing who told you what, the IRS or Turbo Tax?  Call Turbo Tax again.  They either didn't understand you or you misunderstood them.

Frustrated

It is super confusing! The IRS did not attempt to withdrawal the amount (which is $2665- the difference between my original return and the ammended one- both show I will get a refund from the IRS) Ill try to call TurboTax again but the rep I spoke with today was very inconsistent and ultimately hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor.

I haven't received my refund yet- either one. The original or the ammended. Which I believe is where the problem lies because if I had received my original, then I WOULD have owed the IRS that amount. This, what it shows on my TurboTax account... That I owe the IRS. But I don't... And TurboTax NOT the IRS is the only place that believes I owe any money. The IRS rep confirmed I have no balance with them. It's all so confusing and frustrating

The taxes owed or the tax refund on the TurboTax website will not change after the tax return has been completed.  TurboTax receives no information whatsoever about the status of a tax return or tax refund from the IRS or a State.

Right. But that's not what the issue is

@DoninGA   Please help?  Maybe a Mod can look into this and check the csx call?  I think I've posted everything I can think of.
