YOu very well might, if your total income from all sources was high enough for the entire tax year. I can only guess why your employer did not withhold taxes on your W-2 income. Either your income was to low, or when you filled out the W-4 you indicated that you were exempt from withholding. For the latter, the employer would only have withheld Medicare and SS if your income was sufficient where they were required to.
You have to enter the 2023 W-2 that you received from your employer on the 2023 tax return. If your income exceeds the Standard Deduction for your filing status you will have taxes owed that you will have to pay. Unless you have other tax credits which would eliminate your tax liability.
Taxes owed have to be paid on or before April 15, 2024 to avoid a failure to pay penalty.
