It depends, but probably.  If you have other taxable income, you will report the disability exactly as it appears on your form.  Short or long-term disability is reported on Form W-2 or Form 1099-R and is taxable income (actually considered earned income.  This is important because it can help you qualify or determine earned income credit.  You know it is taxable because there was tax taken out of it).  Some receive SSI disability.  This is reported on Form 1099-SSA.  This can be taxable depending on other income, but not always.  You need to report it and a determination is made.  Again, though, if you had taxes taken out you will want to report it to get these taxes back
