For 2025? Did the IRS send you a letter? You need to compare all the income above the AGI. There could be many reasons they changed some income. They may have gotten a W2 or 1099 you didn't enter. They may have changed the taxable amount of any 1099R you got on 1040 line 4 and 5. Oh, and if you entered a 1099R on the wrong line (4 or 5) they might have missed it. A common reason this year is not getting the right taxable amount of Social Security on 1040 or 1040SR line 6b.
On your tax return, AGI is on line 11. If the IRS changed it, then they changed something on lines 1 to 10. You should be notified by mail. However, there is also a concept referred to as MAGI, which is modified adjusted gross income. Line 11 as above, adjusted for certain items. Unfortunately, there is no single formula to determine MAGI. It will differ depending on what is being calculated. If this is what you are inquiring about, tell what is the issue /item is, and we should be able to provide details.
