Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Why do I have to pay the additional 34.99 on top of two fees of 29.99, for a direct deposit, if I already have a bank account set up for direct deposit?

The site says the 34.99 fee is not necessary if I already have a bank account.

Did you choose to pay the TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund?  If so, there is an additional 34.99 service fee for that refund processing option.  (39.99 for California filers using a paid edition, where it is bundled with Premium Services.)

If you did choose that option to pay out of your Federal refund, you can remove it prior to filing and then pay the TurboTax fee upfront with credit card, debit card, or a prepaid debit card you can buy in a store.   Here's how to remove it, depending on your location:

That is not a fee for direct deposit.

It sounds like you chose to pay the TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund instead of paying upfront with credit card, debit card or a prepaid credit card you can buy in a store.  That option has a 34.99 service fee.

See my answer below on how to remove that option.
