I've used Online TTax for years, and when I entered our RMD's for our IRA's, it asked a long list of questions, like did I take the money out because there was a disaster, and did I inherit the IRA, this and that.
But it started the list of questions by saying, "Only make changes here if any info from your form is missing or inaccurate."
So I never did enter anything there since nothing was missing or inaccurate.
But now I am using the Desktop version, and it asks did we move it to another retirement account (or the same one), or did we do something else with it (like cashed out).
I guess I would expect both versions to ask the same questions. Any reason they would differ?
Thanks

There have been, and I guess there always will be differences between the two platforms. Some of the differences are due to the nature of the two platforms, one being online, and the other software that resides on your computer. The new interview questions are not specific to Desktop, they are on the Online version as well. They are an effort to simplify the process for people with some less common issues.
FYI: There have been fewer changes to the desktop software over recent years, so if you like less change you should like desktop.
