Denied Returnn

a friend of mine is trying to do his taxes through turbo tax and he’s been denied 6 times now. It keeps saying the AGI is wrong but we went through the IRS website to verify the information and it’s correct. What does he do? Do we have to do them by mail? cause he doesn’t want to pay someone to do them when he isn’t getting much back anyways. If we do have to do them by mail how do we go about that what papers do we need?

He should try using zero as the AGI.   If zero does not work then he can file by mail.

If you choose to file by mail it prints out the pages needed for you to send.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
