Hello,
My W2 box 12 has a line that says:
"D 22 6493.50"
I know what D means, I know that I contributed 6493.50 to my 401k, but I have no idea what the 22 means.
Thanks

The 22 stands for tax year 2022, you can disregard the 22 and just use Code D and the amount shown on the W-2.
Ha! Thanks for the quick response!
My W2 has no dollars for box 12
Then skip box 12.
W2 Box 12a - 12d are just the box numbers. They don't have to be filled in. But if they have a Code (1 or 2 capital letters) and amount you need to enter it. Don't confuse the lowercase letters a-d with the uppercase Codes A, B, C, D, DD, etc. The lowercase a-d are just part of the box label. You don't enter them. You can enter the Code and Amount in any box 12.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate the response. That's what I had originally thought, but Turbo Tax was saying something was needed. I looked at 2021 taxes and apparently, I had added 0's. So, I tried that, and it worked.
