I am SO GLAD to know I am not the only one having this problem!! I have been complaining about it for days - but nothing seems to have been done.
Just strange that some people show the "get code" in blue ink or have a link to click on and others, like myself, just show the "get code" in black as part of the paragraph, and no matter how many times I click on it, it does not work. I have pretty much given up.
I have the Premium download version that I bought at Costco.
The link looks like text. It says "Get your Identification Code" see image below.
I sure hope that helps.
Unfortunately my screen does not show the text in blue and it does not have a link. Still cannot understand how some people get the blue print or link and others (like myself) get nothing. The "get your identification code" just shows up in black ink like the rest of the paragraph and no matter how many times I click on it, it does nothing.
By the way, I just heard back from Chase and I am still being told Chase and Turbo are working on trying to resolve the problem. He said we should be using the Chase Investment link not the JP Morgan Securities link (needless to say, I told him hard to do since it does not show).
Sure wish Chase and TT could get it together. Makes no sense that some people can download from JP Morgan Securities and others cannot.
DAVID 2233 - I made a screenshot showing my screen (which does not show blue "Get your identification code"-- only black). Any way I can attach it to my comments so people know i am not going crazy - not sure how to do that. Thank Goodness other people are complaining about the same thing.
Other question -- looks like you are showing the info under State taxes, not Federal-- could that be the difference? I am still working on my Federal. Maybe it is working for people in CT and NY but not NJ??
Hi vschafer84
Can you tell me how you were able to attach a screenshot. If I was able to do that, maybe the people at TT would understand what I am saying when I say I do not have blue ink or a link to "download code".
To add a picture, look above the message area where you're typing.
There's an icon of a camera. Click that and you can then add a picture
that you've saved on your PC.
Good idea and Good luck!
Thank you so much!!
I just posted the screenshot. Hopefully someone at Turbo Tax sees it and see what I am speaking about-- "get an identification code" is not in blue, and does not show as a link. No matter how many times I click on it, nothing happens.
Thanks again David2233!!
It looks to me like that link takes you to the Chase site where their system (Chase) knows you are looking for the TurboTax code.
This is the link and I'd bet that if you go there and log in to Chase it'll give you your TT code.
https://secure03a.chase.com/web/auth/?LOB=TurboTaxLogon#/logon/logon/chaseOnline
I can't wait to hear back as to how well this worked.
Great Find!!!
Can confirm that link works great - takes you directly to Chase login to obtain turbotax ID code!
Should help everyone out there!
Kudos to David2233!!

It looks like you're using the Mac version while @ David2233 is using the Windows version.
So it looks like that could be the reason his link was functional while yours was not. I suspect, but don't know for sure, that others who are not getting the blue link are also using the Mac version. And that there may be a programming error in the Mac version where the "Get Your Identification Code" text is not correctly formatted as a hyperlink, so it remains black and non-functional.
Nice catch -
I'm on the Windows version of TT (installed on PC - not TT Online)
Wonder if there is difference if you are using online version of TT?
Thank you so much for your help but I think the person who posted about windows vs mac is probably correct.
I was so excited when you sent me that link -- it did bring me into the Chase site and they did send a code - but when I entered it I was told my User ID or PW were incorrect (and since I just used them to get the code, I know they are correct).
I really really appreciate all your help. I am now going to write to Chase again and mention I am using a Mac and see if that makes a difference. I never gave that any thought!
Thanks so much - bet you are correct (makes sense anyway).
I am going to write to Chase again - and see it there is anything they can do (along with TT) to fix the problem knowing it could just be with the Mac version.
I never gave any thought to Mac vs Windows. Great catch, to say the least.
Ya. it doesn't work if you use "chase". I used "J.P. Morgan Securities" and it works.
HI-- are you working on an Apple Mac by any chance? That seems to be the problem.
